UPDATE:
BABS has successfully secured an artist studio in the newly renovated Hylands Estate Stables Centre in Chelmsford, Essex.

Martine and Frances met on a City & Guilds Creative Embroidery course and formed BABS on completion of the Diploma.

Frances has a background in traditional art and is keen to develop ways of combining painting/drawing with the use of stitch.

Martine prefers to explore the properties of fabrics and threads in a more abstract way using stitch as a form of mark making

Both love working with colour and this was apparent at their first exhibition in the Maeldune Centre in Maldon last August.

Their textile art is presented in various forms including hangings, cushions, bags and dolls. They can be found at local craft fairs and are available for commissioned work.

They also both have teaching experience and are available for workshops.
